Manhã de Carnaval

Sparkle was just a blast for me. I was devastated (and wasted, yes). I had only once been dressing out before, I came alone and didn't know anybody there. I have been following several blogs regularly and commenting sometimes, but that doesn't count for real life friendship, does it?
How I was taken, how I got literally VIP treatment, how everybody was so nice to me and genuinely happy to have me come all the way... The totally surreal freedom of going out dressed just as you like, the great parties, the cool atmosphere of simply having fun dressed. Seeing and meeting everybody. Well, not nearly, but so many I cannot count anyway.

My top list: Attending the Friday dinner at Eden, Saturday dinner with Jo, Becky and Jane in Japanese restaurant, limo drive to Sackville Gardens with the aforementioned + Leah True, Saturday night surreal on Canal Street, finishing it all dancing my feet dead with Jo in the lesbian bar.

Sunday afternoon when carnaval was over and all others went home I got sentimental having a long hot bath with Lamb's Navy Rum, listening to UK all-time dance anthems on radio. Thinking what are the important things in life, and you know what? I was thinking I could move to UK.. So if you know of IT consulting positions with filthy high salary please let me know ;-)

My very very compressed thanks to Jo, Becky & Jane and Fiona with whom I spent most of my time. And Kim, Bella and just everybody who worked hard to make Sparkle happen.

See you next year.

Manhã tão bonita manhã
na vida uma nova canção
Cantando só teus olhos
teu riso e tuas mãos
pois há de haver um dia
em que virás
Das cordas do meu violão
que só teu amor procurou
Canta o meu coração
alegria voltou, tão feliz
a manhã deste amor

I sing to the sun in the sky
I sing to the sun rising high
Carnival time is here
magical time of year
and as the time draws near
dreams fill my heart

It was great meeting you too, and any girl who cracks open bubbly to start a night out has most definately got class!
